I visited a client today who lives over the road from me.

He took me down to the cellar in his enormous house which he has converted into a small cinema with authentic seats and old fashioned decor,posters and memorabilia etc,

You would have loved it Rob. Next door to his large house is a rest home for the elderly. He often brings in a dozen or so of the residents and treats them to an evening of old classic movies and snacks etc for free.

He's a really lovely generous man who is happy to share his special cinema with those who cannot get out and about very easily.

Our house has enormous cellars like Mark's but I'm afraid it's just full of hundreds of Enid Blyton & Agatha Christie paperbacks and lawnmowers and tools!

Presumably his cellar is nice and warm and not chilly or damp for his elderly visitors!

Yes,Mark's cellar is heated and air conditioned. He is a doctor. He doesn't know I know about the kind things he does for the elderly folks who live next door - a mutual friend told me about it.

He's one of life's true gentleman. His favourite films are the old original Hammer House Of Horror movies, old black and white movies and musicals.

As soon as Rob is eligible for an o.a.p bus pass I will try and cadge an invite for a film viewing for us!

I just watched an Indian movie about India's secret 1998 nuclear tests. It was a really good movie with good acting by Bollywood standards, (which are, to put it simply, very low.) and was one of those movies that fill you with patriotic pride for the country it is about whether you consider yourself to be a part of that country or not.

A few weeks ago I also watched Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War, which was a great watch for anyone who enjoys the MCU, though the ending killed me a bit ahaha.

I'm possibly gonna watch Deadpool 2 in 2 days.... Ryan Reynolds is one of the best actors and humans I know about.

Bollywood has the bet acting that you can ever find. Just saying.

For me, after so many years of just Hollywood, I was glad to encounter Bollywood and realise that there exist great actors and acting qualities

Bollywood is 99% terrible over acting and bad songs and 1% good performances. Hollywood is such a dream compared to that. Just saying.

I love the way you think Bollywood has bad acting

And about 99% bad acting. for those of us who are oupsides, we are able to appreciate the excellent acting that Bollywood has to offer and the amazing songs it contains. Like any film industry it probably has good & bad. But you can't definitely generalise it as bad. Because everyone can know it's just not true. Also Hollywood has really good actors such as Meryl Street, Julia Roberts, Richard Chamberlain, and Robert Retford but for me, Hollywood doesn't completely suit with my definition of what I would overall look for in movies and acting. That's why Bollywood came to me as a relief because sometimes I was tired of the fake overacting and the lack of vitality in the characters. But obviously, I love Hollywood and its history and I also adore Bollywood and its actors.

(I do have an auntie who loves watching Bollywood films and indeed Chinese films, but I suspect it's entirely because of the so-bad-they're-good factor.
