Re: Football
Thanks, John! Great result for the Owls. I just wish the Reds could've made your day complete by beating Sheff United, but it wasn't to be!
I'd love to see The Seagulls beat Man U, Eddie!

Re: Football
Yes, a great result for the Owls, John. Pity that Forest had to settle for a draw, Number 6. Theless said about the Baggies the better. They seem destined for Championship football next season.
A win for Brighton again Manchester United would certainly have been great, Number 6, but the final result was really to be expected. My brother, Duncan, who is the Chairman of the Supporters Club goes to all Brighton’s home and away games. He travelled up to Manchester by coach this morning and will be travelling back as I write. He expects to return home around 4am tomorrow. If extra time or penalties had been necessary, he would have been back even later. Now that is what I call dedication.

Re: Football
I think it's disgraceful that Man Utd v Brighton kicked off at 7.45pm on a Saturday night, completely disregarding the true supporters who travelled, who wouldn't return home until 4.00am. All for television. Why couldn't the game have started at 5.00pm? I'm afraid TV aren't interested in genuine fans who like to go to matches.

Re: Football
I totally agree, John. Unfortunately, money talks louder than supporters! If it wasn't for the true 'supporters' travelling to each match, week in, week out, & buying all the memorabilia to go with it, then the comfortable lifestyle of the footballing elite wouldn't exist. We've been taken for granted for far too long. The downfall of modern football began many years ago with the emergence of players agents. Greed has grown from then onwards. The bubble of wealth in football will burst one day!

Peru didn't qualify for the next stage in the World Cup. I'm so sad. They have played sooo well and shown their best to the world. I'm really proud of them. They didn't deserve not to win.. But like they say, there's always a "next time"

I see on facebook that a bunch of ants have predicted a win for England tomorrow...

I wouldn't bet on it. But hey, it's Panama. If not now, when will you manage to pull off a win?
The ones I'm excited for are Japan Senegal (both underdogs pulling off wins.) and Colombia Poland (The ones on the receiving end of that.)

Mind you, it was an easy win! England don't pull it off all that often!

I heard someone on LBC radio criticise England for 'carelessly' allowing Panama to score once! Some people are never satisfied.

Re: Football
I totally ignore the so-called 'pundits'. Most of them talk a load of c*** anyway. I am always amazed at the predictions of Mark Lawrenson on the BBC sports website who predicts the Premier League results throughout the season. I wonder how much the BBC pay him out of my license fee?
When watching the football on TV, I usually have the sound on a low volume or even mute it.

Why can't we have more women football referee's too? They do a great job in the snooker tournaments.
