TV actress Susan George (and her dogs) visited my workplace in Westminster, London in the early 1990s at a time when her production company was involved in a planned film with my boss. One of my London research jobs in the late 1980s supplied data for a Parliamentary project, and involved a reception at the House of Commons where the staff met the then Speaker of the House, Bernard Weatherill (predecessor to the late Betty Boothroyd). And Swedish film director Ingmar Bergman's nieces were at my primary school in the late 1960s so members of his family would have been at school plays and other events, though I have no idea if he himself was ever in the UK at the time and came to them and the connection was 'low key' - we had no idea how famous he was at the time.
