I think you might be confusing whiskey with whisky. The former is Pete's tipple, and shouldn't be confused with Scotch.

Its amazing to see how a Carrot Cake Taste Test has wandered and meandered into same sex marriage proposals, nut allergies,bridesmaid's dresses,Cafe recommendations,sharing of carrot cake recipes,courgette cake recipes, barn-dance for the reception suggestions,torn up Betty Maxey artwork for confetti,nursery rhymes, Irish/Scotch whiskey or whisky ( I like 'em both)....and I have a wonderful feeling we haven't finished yet!!!!


I have to go into hospital tomorrow for a small eye operation,and if anyone keeps this thread on topic while I'm away I will be most upset!

As soon as I'm out I'm going to treat myself to the Waitrose luxury Carrot Cake,and of course I will try and find a small space here to report my findings!!

Regarding the original topic - not sure which will have had the Moderators tearing their hair out the most - the various detours the subject has taken, or the fact that Carrot Cake probably doesn't have any Enid Blyton connections at all.

I think most of us know which is which, Courtenay. Just in case anyone is 'missing the point'. Pete wrote whiskey with an 'e' and I did the same, thinking that he wasn't referring to scotch! Okay!!

That is why I didn't understand what Nigel was on about.

It's in the General Natter forum, so it's not obliged to have any Enid Blyton connections.

I know they had seed cake in at least one book (The Treasure Hunters), but that's something I've never tried before, and I'm not sure I'd like it if I did. It sounds a bit... seedy.

You have never tasted whiskey, so how do you know you don't like it? As you haven't tried it, I thought you must be referring to Scotch. Courtenay, I dislike both.

I have tasted whiskey and whisky. I actually gargle with whisky when I have a sore throat to kill the germs! Then I spit it out before I pewk up!
