Lots of activity between post 19 and post 17 on the web cam. Looks like a badger (?).
Some seagulls, but no puffins. I'll check for the humungous rabbit later on...

Maybe we should keep a list of animal and bird species spotted, the date and time and by whom. Could get to be a long list!

I keep checking the webcam when I get chance, but I have seen nothing yet except a very large rabbit! But I enjoyed the clip in which the Puffins actually made an appearance - thanks for the link, Anita. :D

That very large rabbit is nocturnal. I've already seen it quite often last year when it was dark on Burhou.

Francis, that's an excellent idea as it would give us a better idea at what times puffins are around.

Or maybe the amount of time they have to spare! I always say when you've seen one puffin you've seen them all. :D

Perhaps you should get to know some of them on a more individual level, Nigel.

Nigel, I sure wish I had more time. But I try to put our dog in his crate after 12 p.m. to make him catch up on his constant lack of sleep and then sit at my computer to catch up on the many unanswered e-mails, EBS posts and other forum posts that tend to pile up in my inboxes. And in-between I check the puffin cam, I don't deny that.

Only somebody who's NOT enchanted by puffins could make such a heartless remark!
There are young puffins and old puffins, hopefully baby puffins very soon, seagulls, the gorgeous view on Alderney and Castle Clonque (on the right), humungous rabbits at night when it's dark on Burhou...for me it's just never getting dull. And soon enough the weeds in front of the web cam will grow so high that you can no longer watch the wildlife on Burhou and then you have to wait until next April...

Nigel, please explain to a non-British person what "application" actually does mean in this context. :?:
I only know that it's a form that you have to fill out.

You're asking Nigel to explain something Francis said?

Don't worry, Chrissie. Francis means your ability to apply yourself wholeheartedly to the task in hand, so no form-filling required. :)

Nigel can't be heartless, because he's still breathing.

Hello Dave, you are right, I mixed up who wrote which quote and apologize.
Thanks for explaining application.

Heartless means the same thing in English, Chrissie. I think Dave was making a pun.

Yes, Chrissie. I'm not sure it was a pun exactly, but it was a joke. You should be used to the British sense of humour by now. :)

By the way, in computer-speak 'application' means something different again. Don't worry about it. Computer programmers love to bamboozle us with gobbledegook.

Hi Courtenay and Dave, yes, I am used to the British sense of humour. It's similar in the US, people love to tease others.
I believe I figured out that all these so-called apps on smart phones are applications...does that mean programs?

An application is a set of programs for achieving a specific task on a computer. This will explain it better than I can.
