They must be male puffins with the females waiting in the burrows with rolling pins! After all they should be
bringing back fish instead of fishy tales!

A puffin has just emerged from its burrow!

I can see two seagulls. :P

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

A little higher than post 17 (on the right end) I spotted two puffins. They walked down into their burrow (sp?) and came back out again. That was about a minute ago.

Gah - there's nothing there now, not even a gull or a rabbit!

They've got a video of the puffins in action here:

Thank you for the link, Anita. It's beautiful.
It's 11:34 a.m. in/at the US East Coast right now. In case you have time, check the puffin cam between noontime (in 26 minutes) and 1 p.m.. That's when I usually had more luck last year. That's early evening on Burhou Island and for some reason more puffins seem to leave their burrows at that time.
Maybe for evening walks?

I obviously need the patience and application of Anita and Chrissie to see the puffins but no doubt over the next couple of months even I will catch a glimpse of them.

Francis what I do to not miss that time frame: I set the kitchen timer, then let the dog outside one more time, put him in his crate and spend some time upstairs at my computer. Sometimes I get lucky! :D
