I was going to give a very similar reply to Courtenay's, Jack! :)

I enjoyed watching Agnetha Fältskog and Gary Barlow perform I Should Have Followed You Home on Children In Need Rocks last year. Not an epic song, but I love both their voices.

Thanks, Courtenay  , Now I need to find my Pay Pal password...
It may be worth mentioning this, discretely, on the 'joining' page.
Thanks again

I just watched it and it was very interesting, thanks.

I think the ABBA spoof by French & Saunders (C'est La Vie) is cleverly done and amusing, especially if you're familiar with ABBA's videos:

If there were no ᗅᗺᗷᗅ, there might not have been a successful Eurovision winner for 1974... no inspiration for Scandinavian musicians to go extra-Scandinavia... no "CHESS" [link]... and certainly no "MAMMA MIA" [link] [link]! 8)

That's part of how influential ᗅᗺᗷᗅ has been to the international rock-n-roll world.

FYI, in the gallery of my deviantART account, I had made two ᗅᗺᗷᗅ homage/cosplay artworks: [link] [link]

Now that's a clever trick - printing a 'B' back to front.

That's odd. Several times in your post I think I'm meant to be seeing the word "ABBA", but all I'm seeing are four rectangles with four letters written in each one (ISCS, etc.)

"Curiouser and curiouser". There must be some way of reversing a letter which isn't working when it is translated onto your computer Anita.

There is a link on about to type the logo with the backwards B [link].
But, yes, apparently Windows XP comps have a problem rendering such lettersets properly...

In the meantime, you may have to resort to using graphics..... Image

At the very least, it spanned a hit for Murray Head. [link]

Aha, here he is - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9mwELXPGbA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Of course, Murray Head also played the role of Judas Iscariot in the original London cast of Jesus Christ Superstar, but that's starting to get off the topic of ABBA!

(I can see the backwards B, by the way, but not sure how to reproduce it in my own typing.)

I really like ABBA too. I think I can just about remember them winning the Eurovision, as I'd have been about 7 or 8 at the time. My aunt was a big fan, and I remember listening her albums when I was a bit older. Somewhere in the house I have some VHS tapes with programmes about them from a few years back.

I really liked the duet with Gary Barlow, and was disappointed it didn't seem to get much air play (if any).

I didn't particularly like the film Mamma Mia. I'd rather just put on my ABBA CD. I'm currently listening to Lay All Your Love on Me, which is probably my favourite track. I love the harmonies. I like Winner Takes it All and The Day Before You Came for the lyrics. I only have a double CD of their best known tracks, and like pretty much all of them. I'm not quite so keen on Fernando, but even that has good harmonies.

I think probably I'd say they are the best group of all time.
