Bodily Functions, Ablutions, Male Grooming etc!

Well we can always 'pooh pooh' the thread if it gets too literal.

To avoid worrying about grooming, I have managed to lose most of my hair!

How very careless of you Francis!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

In the lockdown I was tempted to grow a full beard and let my hair go long - It is a similar colour to John Lennon's.
But instead I have decided a stricter regimen would be better for me and my wife!
Therefore I shower at 7am. Shave every two days or so, as I'm fair haired that's all I need to do.
And I have used the Wahl homecut to style my hair.
I have been using up all the aftershave, deodorants bought as gifts that inevitably clog up the bathroom cabinet, so the great smell of Brut, Old Spice and Lynx permeates the air when I greet my wife from work each day at 8am.
How about the other blokes here? Have you gone neanderthal, or have your grooming habits remained consistent?

I'm always looking neanderthal, Petus. One of the reasons why I need a life partner. To help me straighten my life out....

In my case, Petus, it's because of the way I was raised....
And my accommodation is sorted, for now.

Great to hear the positive news about your accommodation, Bannerman.

Re: Bodily Functions, Ablutions, Male Grooming etc!
My wife was forced to re-colour her own hair last night due to the lockdown.
I'm sure ladies all over the country are trying to manage their own hair at present due to their normal hairdresser not being available.
She went for Nice' n Easy Permanent Hair Dye 8A Medium Ash Blonde.
Yes, yes, all very nice you say, but what has this to do with male grooming???
Well, as she had lots left over she decided that I too would be going medium ash blonde and applied it to my hair.
Richard now - Me usual colour...
My normal colour is Strawberry Blonde, so whilst it's not a drastic change I definitely have that Richard Madeley shade going on now!
Next, out came the Wahl hair clipper and grooming kit - with which she proceeded to give me a 'marine' style haircut...
So now I can't leave the house without a cap, but hey, think of all the money I've saved from going to the barbers.
Also, the belly laugh my wife gives me every time she looks at me has got to another positive right??
How are you coping without the hairdresser/barber in these stay at home times???

My hair's halfway down my back but seeing as I'm not going anywhere or seeing anyone it's getting scraped back into a ponytail. If I haven't run the straightners over it I'll platt it as well to keep it under control.
Brodie's fringe is constantly being pushed out of his eyes - I made the mistake of brushing his hair the other day and smoothed out it was much longer and even more in his eyes. I had to put some wax in it to keep it back and he didn't like that either...

I'm already used to using my dog clippers and scissors on mine to keep it tidy between visits to the hairdresser so I'm not finding it difficult. Also being a mass of curls makes it more forgiving to a DIY job than straight hair would be . I gave my mum a cut and colour last week, which went well until the dye was done. She'd picked up the wrong colour, it went nearly black .

Better than bright green, though.IceMaiden wrote:She'd picked up the wrong colour, it went nearly black .
Incidentally, what colour should it have been?
