Happy Birthday John. Have a very Blytonian day. :D

Thank you everyone for your best wishes. And yes, I am 64 today Pete but only in body, I'm 14 in the mind.
One of my presents, which I'm really thrilled with, is a 1956 second reprint copy of Enid's Second Bedside Book. It's in great condition and looks as if it's hardly been read. I love the illustration by Barbara Freeman on the endpapers.

Now I'm jealous! That's one I need in a dust wrapper - quite hard to come by! Enjoy! :-D

I'll warm me with your echoes

It's a lovely copy, Rob, and the wrapper is superb, no fading or loss.

Sounds great! I have it without a wrapper, and I agree the end papers are lovely! :D

Happy Belated Birthday wishes John :D The Bedside Books are great yet I hardly ever see them available, especially in a wrapper. It's a shame as the wrappers are lovely and a full set would look marvellous.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)
