Sorry to get all political on your birthday thread Deej, but I really think birthdays and birthday presents should be means tested.

I'm sure I'm only saying what you as a political heavyweight have been already thinking, but look,if you're on over two bob pocket money a week (£5) in today's real terms the money spent on you would be better off elsewhere.

Like where? I hear you cry! On better joyriding and free bus passes for the pensioners that's where!
This means we could bring the pension age down to around 55 for both men and women.
Surely just that benefit alone would make every birthday present missed instantly worthwhile.

The nature of the means test?

1.Pocket money- if you get a decent wedge, buy your own.Don't forget to save a good amount for all your newly retired relatives birthdays though, they need all the spending money they can get to use at the end of all their extra joyriding!

2. Inside Toilet. Any family currently possessing an inside lavatory will obviously be viewed as privileged and instantly forsake any birthday rights.

3.Owning a pair of long trousers. Are you between the ages of four and thirty two and have at least one pair of long trousers that you wear for church on Sunday/fishing/crabbing or the like? Have a thought for the underclass then man and do the decent thing.

4.Milk Deliveries. Does your road/street/avenue have its very own milkman delivering the daily pinta?
Well if it does, this is the kind of high class elitist bourgeois socio democratic group that we aim to dismantle from the top down.

Yes,sacrificing your birthday and all your presents until you have paid in to society a little longer won't be quick and it certainly won't be easy, but sacrifices have to be made to ensure the survival of the master rac...sorry,older generation!

There are seventy five million people in this country and we need a strong political dynamo to stand up and set the right example.I feel sure Deej that when you take the lead many if not a couple of the seventy five million will follow,or at least comment on your brave stand.

So once again, happy birthday, enjoy your presents, but do make this celebration the last one till you're at least in your sixth decade or so (it may have gone up by then)won't you???
