One of my bugbears, Tim. The developers know that it'll cause major problems for other people if they build in the places you mention, but they only think of profit, profit, profit! They've built on flood plains a few miles from where I live and there's already major flooding in that particular area. There were concerns raised by local people, but no objections from the Environmental Agency, Government officials or local Councillors, so the idiotic scheme was given the go ahead. They were probably first in line with their hands out to benefit from the lucrative back handers on offer!

I’m sorry to hear about your power cut and hope that it gets restored soon, John.

Thank you for the good wishes Eddie, Katharine and Number 6. Alas there was not enough light to read by as I only had a few small tealights which I dug out of the back of a drawer. I must remember to buy some proper candles and holders in case it happens again. The power came back on about 9.30 last night. The image of Fraser made me laugh. What a great character he was, played so expertly by the wonderful John Laurie.

It was very stormy and wet when I was near the Lake District walking and I did do sliding thanks to a muddy pathway across fields

I immediately thought of the FFOs too when I heard about storm Eunice!

I don't know how the name gets chosen other than the fact that the names are in alphabetical order, so there is a slight chance that the next storm could be Frederick!

Without doubt, the next storm should be called storm Fatty, but in fact it will be storm Franklin.

Maybe next year when they decide on names for storms for 2023 they could all be taken from Enid's stories?

Brilliant idea, Katharine. Perhaps, instead of the official names, we could, unofficially, give them Enid Blyton character names. It sounds like a fun idea.
