Francis, Bill might be a bit old for Julie!

My Din a4 Scanner makes me worrying about it. While scanning yesterday it started to smell burned .

I used to love Viv's shop and have lots of purchases including puzzles, cards and fridge magnets including 'Je Suis Golliwogg' and 'Ginger Pop Shop' gollies .Julie2owlsdene wrote:I remember the Wentworth Jigsaws depicting the F.F. covers, in Viv's shop, number 6. I have a couple of them myself from Viv.
I also have the Wentworth puzzle of Enid Blyton's portrait from Viv's shop, and of course Viv used to sell my own Wentworth jigsaw of Green Hedges.

I walked past Viv's old shop whilst I was in Corfe, yesterday. It feels quite odd that it's no longer there!

Quite odd and very sad, Number 6. A visit to Viv's shop used to be one of the highlights of a trip to Corfe.
'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.

It's very sad ................it will just not be quite the same in Corfe. I always would head straight there from the station and have a good chat with Viv before going in to see the castle.

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
I think it's sad too. I visited the Ginger Pop Shop on a couple of occasions about five years ago and bought some lovely gifts for my family, but that was before I joined the EBS, so I only had a brief chat with Viv. After getting to know her a bit better through the forums here, I decided I must get back to Dorset some day and see her and her shop again, but it just never worked out. Now it's too late.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

At least you lucky people got to visit Vivs shop! I never got there, so I never had the pleasure of going inside and having a good 'mooch'!
On the plus side though I did buy a few things off Viv when she had a stall at the EB Days.

Sad that it's gone. I wonder what Viv is up to these days.

I visited Viv's shop a few times, the last occasion was last July when I was with Julie and Nigel. I bought my granddaughter a golliwog. It's a shame it has closed. Best wishes to Viv.

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
The shop is an antique/gift shop now. I popped in the other week, and they do sell some Enid Blyton books, (I think the new owner is trying to get on the Dorset connection to Enid band wagon as it were.) There were some S.S. books and some F. F. books, all updated of course and new.
Julian gave an exclamation and nudged George.

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
I loved Ginger Pop and haunted the shop regularly during our visits to Corfe, there's an attractive hotel just about diag-on-alley opposite the square, and handy for the National Trust shoppe and tearoom too. We're going to a wedding in Wareham soon and I am in two minds whether to nip over to Corfe, it won't be the same without Viv and her lovely Enid Blyton collections .
"Its a magic wood!" said Fanny suddenly.

I would always go to Corfe if I am in the area - it's such a lovely location and castle.

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
Yes, I agree, Francis. Despite the loss of the Ginger Pop shop, I'll still visit Corfe & the castle whenever I'm in the area. It's such a wonderful place.
