Noticed you weren't in the pub, Courtenay!
 Can't get down there every week, sorry, Julie. But glad to hear you made a return visit — it was a nice find, that pub.

Lovely bluebell photo, Rob — I've got a few from today that I might post as well.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I love bluebell woods too, Courtenay and Rob. I saw a beautiful carpet of bluebells beneath the trees in Holland Park in London the other day.

Julie, it sounds as though Charlestown would be the perfect place in which to read Smuggler Ben!

Yes, very much so, Anita. In fact there are quite a few tiny coves down here that are perfect for the Smuggler Ben setting. :D

We had a lovely holiday in Charlestown once, and went on the ships, that have been used in many films. :-D

I also know the Rashleigh Arms quite well too!! Its where we had a meal the night before returning home - and I had a very bad reaction to prawns, having eaten them previously for many years. It was a nice place apart from that though!
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes

Sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience at the Rashleigh Arms, Rob. It's a lovely pub and I enjoyed meeting Julie and Stephen there. We chose it specifically because they welcome dogs indoors and out, so little Rosie was very much at home there as well.

I also enjoyed wandering around Charlestown Harbour — there's a shipwreck heritage centre there that was still closed for the winter while I was there (it was due to open just a few days later), but there were some lovely art and craft galleries nearby and an antiques centre with lots of interesting things, including vintage children's books. A few Blytons, but nothing that tempted me! There were two or three tall ships in the harbour, but I didn't get to see any of them in full sail, which would have been a magnificent sight — "smugglerish" indeed, to quote Julie.

On that note, must get back to reading Smuggler Ben! :D

As it is I've returned from an overnight trip with friends, and they had the cutest little teacup size kittens and there! Plus the momma cat had blue eyes, how perfect is that?
Are these Siamese cats? (As in mystery of the disappearing cat)
Nope just a wildish cat, but she happened to have blue eyes. They were beautiful.

Btw people I went to a book cafe today, they had some nice Blytons I've been wanting to get my hands on, but I was with others and didn't have time to even pick one up, but hopefully I can go alone sometime and read a few in a few sittings! :D Quite a nice, cozy kind of place with food and drinks there too.

Its a really nice wood! Of course, I was thinking 'The Randan Wood Mystery' as I walked through it!

That cafe sounds a really nice place - and a great idea too! :-D

I couldn't resist taking a photo of some lovely Celedines & Forget-me-nots, which I saw during the latter stages of my walk this afternoon. Each time I see them in Spring, I can't help but think of Enid's description of these particular Wild Flowers in many of her books. I wonder how many types of Wild Flowers she actually mentioned throughout her career as a writer? :D

Those flowers are absolutely lovely! :D

I also remember how Enid Blyton described George Kirrin's eyes 'as blue as forget-me-nots'

Congrats, Flora.

It will be 47 years for us at the end of this year. We only celebrate for the day though!
