Last week they were threatening that the European weather was coming north and we'd have 40c temperatures! Don't know what happened to them since!Machupicchu14 wrote:I want to ask , where's the summer??

They were turned back at the Channel because of Brexit.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

During the John Lees BJH concert in Darmstadt that year Craig Fletcher joked that they had taken the British weather with them, it might be afraid of the Brexit as well. I'm afraid he was right .

What about Irish weather! They're not exiting anything but perhaps the border has cast a sombre cloud.

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
It's taking a while to find home for stuff that was in storage, but this week the costume museum in Blandford agreed to take the mannequin of the "Little Boy" from Poole.
I had him ready in the back of my small hatchback for delivery on Monday morning.
Monday morning, I was awakened by a loud knock on the door, followed almost immediately by a door-bell ring.
Three burly policemen stood there. Come to investigate a report by a Member of the Public about the body in the back of the car...
They borrowed my car keys and reassured themselves that whilst undoubtedly a stiff, it wasn't actually flesh and blood in the boot. They went away happy and amused, but gave me the good advice to get to Blandford ASAP!

Glad to hear you were exonerated, Viv!!
William E, welcome to the forums, as I can see you've only just joined! You're obviously reading The Boy Next Door, which is a favourite with a lot of people — I only "discovered" it a few years ago (it didn't come into my Blyton-laden childhood somehow) and found it was one of the most exciting and thrilling books by Enid I'd ever read. Is this the first time you've read it too? Hope you enjoyed the beach at Bournemouth.

It's good to hear from you, Viv, and glad to hear that the three policeman saw the funny side of the 'body' in your car.

I always wondered where you obtained that 'little boy' and now I am getting worried. Sounds like the 'House of Wax'!Viv of Ginger Pop wrote:It's taking a while to find home for stuff that was in storage, but this week the costume museum in Blandford agreed to take the mannequin of the "Little Boy" from Poole.

Great story Viv. Glad to see you haven't lost your sense of humour.

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
I'm sure your local newspaper would love to receive an account of the 'body' in your car, Viv. If they used it, it would make a very interesting story for readers in your area.
