That's great! Glad you found them in the end, Chrissie!

Glad you found them in the end, Chrissie. I personally don't like FB because of things like that. That's why I only use it if I have to. It's certainly not my favourite social media website.

Re: Happy Birthday Chrissie777
John, the only reason I joined Facebook in May 2014 (after the EB meeting at the Spade Oak and visiting Old Thatch) was to be able to see all the photos that André had taken. My husband has a (hardly used) FB account.
In May 2014 we went from Algiers (where my husband was working for his US employer for a while) to Stockholm and Trosa, then to 4 of the Channel isles and finally to the Thames area where we met Daisy and her husband, Francis, Eddie and Chick, Nigel and his wife Jane, Tony, Anita, Julie and her husband, Fiona, Stef, Pete, Shadow (I believe), Sally and a few others whose names momentarily don't come to my mind.
During that trip I had used roll film with my old camera and it would have taken at least another week to get the photos developed, so André suggested that I should join Facebook in order to see his digital pics.
But with FB it was a technical struggle ever since.
I was already a member of another social media website from Germany (Stayfriends) since 2009 where I found a dozen of my former high school class mates (only two were on Facebook). Stayfriends is created in a much more chronological way, you can add your vacation pics and your correspondence with everybody with whom you are in contact just continues an, so it's easy to find and if I'm not sure if I already wrote about a certain topic, I can look it up.
It has all schools in Germany listed where you can look up your old class.
I agree that FB has it's drawbacks. But as an avid reader and a movie and classic TV series buff I joined groups like "The Fugitive" (David Janssen) and "Peyton Place" and some groups on my favorite authors like Barbara Erskine, Nancy Thayer and Anne LaBastille. That's the nice part about FB which I enjoy.
My favorite forum is in any case EBS!

You are very, very welcome, your day sounded delightful! What a shame the hairdresser messed up your colour, try a chamomile rinse which highlights blonde hair!Chrissie777 wrote:Thank you, floragord. André made his world-famous chocolate chip pancakes (to die for!) and took me to an Italian restaurant at 5 p.m. which was great.floragord wrote:Belatedly many happy returns of your special day, Chrissie, hope it was a stunning one!
However, at 1 p.m. my hair stylist again messed up my hair color (more and more salons over here in the US keep telling their customers that in order to have blond hair, they need to do it via foil/highlights which already didn't work out in early May when I tried the foil for the first time, so I refused to try the foil again yesterday and complained about the result).
"Its a magic wood!" said Fanny suddenly.

Thank you, Daisy. André spoilt me with his heavenly chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and took me out to lunch to our favorite Italian restaurant.
