Belated birthday greetings Daisy and glad to hear you had a pleasant day. The delay in sending my good wishes is due to the fact that I was not on the forum at all yesterday, as I spent most of the day outdoors gardening and later mucked out and fed my friend's three horses as she was away for the whole day attending her father's 80th. birthday party!!!

Thank you all. Yes, Chrissie, I got your message on facebook. Yes John, I still read series in order when possible, although sometimes I stand and stare at my book shelf and wonder which book to pick. At such times I do often choose one half way through a series usually because I want a laugh... or a particular time of year setting. Unlike some people, I like reading about the hot summer days when it's cold and wet here, and the snowy stories when it's hot here!

Daisy, I enjoyed reading "Winter Solstice" by Rosamunde Pilcher several times in the summer over the past 5 or 6 years and in general love to read winter novels when it's hot, because I don't like the heat. Never did.

Mary Higgins Clark wrote several winter and Christmas novels and it's always a treat to read those on a hot and humid July or August day while I'm impatiently counting the days until October and low humidity. :D

Besides December is my busiest month of the year with house cleaning, before my stepdaughter comes from New Orleans to visit. Almost no time to read left. That's why I'm always amazed how many women make time for winter novels in December when I read all the reviews on amazon.com.
