Many Happy returns however!

"You're so sharp you'll cut yourself one day!" Hunchy said going to the door
"So my Mother told me that when I was two years old!" said Julian and the others giggled.

Re: :) Happy Birthday Pete
Thanks for all the good wishes.
I must say say though that the funeral was a celebration of a dear friend, who although he endured very serious illness for many many years was one of the most cheerful, upbeat positive people I have ever known.
His whole life was full of good cheer and adventure....
Some of the stories recounted, like the one when the brakes failed on his wheelchair and he sailed down a hill backwards similar to the one in the old Hovis adverts eventually coming to land gracefully in a retired ladies garden of prize daffodils was like something from a Norman Wisdom film and had the congregation in stitches!

Sorry to hear about your friend's sad demise but glad you had happy memories and stories to reminice
about. Rather worried about you saying that you are not so nimble in your mid forties - where does
that leave me? Enjoy your youthful years!

Sorry to hear about your friend, Pete. He sounds as though he was an inspiring person, and reading about the wheelchair incident made me chuckle.
I posted at more or less the same time as you earlier, didn't check the page when it refreshed and have only just read your post, so I wasn't being deliberately insensitive when I was wishing you an enjoyable day!

Yes, may I add my sympathies to you as well Pete. It sounds as if your friend lived life to the full, and made the most of his ailments. I had to smile at the thought of him crash-landing into a daffodil bed!
