It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATHARINE
Happy Belated Birthday, Katharine!
Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATHARINE
Thank you both.
I had some lovely cards, presents and messages.
It was a pretty hectic day - my youngest is having an 18th birthday party at the weekend, so I had to make a cake, plus do some other bits of preparation, then had to give her a lift somewhere, before attending parents evening!
It was probably the last parents evening I will need to attend, after 25 years. I wonder how many different teachers I've spoken to in that time?
I got 2 lots of DVDs - one was the 1970s version of 'Ballet Shoes', the other was the boxed set of 'Terry and June'. It's a long time since I saw that programme, but I seem to remember it was quite amusing, so I'm looking forward to watching both DVDs once the party is over. Well, I have an essay to write by mid December, and of course there's Christmas coming up, so maybe I'll have to wait until January.
Oh and I almost forgot, I got Pam Ayre's 'The Cotswolds' series too, which I thoroughly enjoyed when it was on recently.

Sounds great! I have the 1970s Ballet Shoes on DVD and find it very enjoyable (though nothing beats reading the book!)
