Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATHARINE
Your presents sound lovely, Katharine, especially the gummed paper scenes. I hadn't heard of the guinea pig Pride and Prejudice but I just Googled it and it looks amusing.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATHARINE
Thank you to everyone for your good wishes.
I did indeed have a lovely birthday. Better than I had originally anticipated in the current situation.
Sutton Hoo was able to keep its outside spaces open, so we went for a family walk in the morning. It was rather overcast, but not too chilly and perhaps most importantly, it didn't rain! So we spent almost 3 hours there and walked just under 2 and a half miles. Their little kiosk was open and they had some of their delicious gluten and dairy free chocolate brownies on sale - very yummy.
We probably would have stayed a bit longer, but I had a job interview in the afternoon. It's only for a temporary Christmas job, but it would be good to add something else to my CV should I be lucky enough to get it. (I'll know by the end of the week). Although I will be disappointed if I don't get the job, I enjoyed the whole experience of the interview, and hopefully would learn from it if I apply for something similar in the future.
My husband and youngest daughter had made me a very delicious cake and the evening was spent on a Zoom call to my 2 older children while opening my lovely cards and presents.
I got a coupe of DVDs - Cliff Richard's Summer Holiday and the complete set of Shoestring - hands up who remembers the latter series?
I also got a pretty book mark - celebrating 100 years of the Royal Academy of Dance, and a beautiful book about their centenary. I think it's possibly the heaviest book I've ever owned! It's still shrink wrapped at the moment, but I'm looking forward to dipping into it.
All the above had been on my 'wish list', although I'd forgotten half of what I put on it. I also got a surprise present - a Harry Potter version of Trivial Pursuits. If it's not possible for my children to visit over Christmas hopefully that's a game that we could all play 'virtually', and it will be interesting to see if any of us are as big Harry Potter fans as we think we are.
Once again - thanks to everyone for your kind wishes - they really helped complete a lovely day.
