Re: General Natter Room
I see it's Mollybobs, birthday today, also. I often wonder how some of our lost forumities are getting on. Mollybobs, before she left us was expecting, too. Then she left not long after the baby was born. I expect she was then kept busy with her new addition and her lovely two dogs.

Yes, I too wonder about people who have drifted away and hope things are going well for them. Mollybob's little boy must be nine years old now and may have siblings.

Mollybob used to post regularly on the forums when I first joined and, noticing that today is her birthday, also got me wondering how she is getting on now, Julie.
'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.

Let's hope she sometimes still gets around to reading some of the site when she can.

How strange... I was thinking about Mollybobs only a day or so ago. I have a feeling my daughter was in touch with her some years ago through another forum... I must ask some questions!

A forum I belonged to years ago used to send an email every six months or so saying you were missed. Quite a good idea, really.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Another forum called BritMovie dot org forced me to change my password every 3 months until I ran out of ideas for new passwords , so I finally quit.Moonraker wrote:A forum I belonged to years ago used to send an email every six months or so saying you were missed. Quite a good idea, really.
It's such a pity, because it's the only British website which has several threads on CFF films from the 1940's/1950's. Now I have no way of finding out any news in case some old CFF film gets a release on DVD (BFI does that once in a while).
For those who've never heard the term CFF before: Children's Film Foundation founded by Mary Field. They produced the best imaginable, suspenseful movies for kids like "Five on a Treasure Island", "Five have a Mystery to solve", "Treasure at the Mill" (Malcolm Saville's book), "The Carringford School Mystery" or "Fourwinds Island".
