Re: Happy Birthday Fiona!
Thanks, everyone. We took a picnic to the beach and a flask of hot chocolate as well, but it wasn't that cold considering the time of year! Then it was home for The Muppet Christmas Carol. I've just ordered curries for our tea from our favourite Indian restaurant so I'm looking forward to that arriving.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Yes, happy birthday Fiona. I don't enter my details online, so I don't get any birthday wishes here or on other sites, but ( bet you can ride a coach and horses through the entry I'm making! grammar and spelling) - regardless happy birthday, Fiona

Happy Birthday, Fiona! Hope you've had a Blytonesque day (perhaps reminiscent of The Rat-a-Tat Mystery, Five Get Into a Fix or The Secret Seven, if you've had any snow where you are!)

Thanks all. Yes there's some snow here. Yesterday it was more ice than snow as it's been there all week but this morning we've had a fresh coating!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)
