Happy birthday Julie. The gates of Owl's Dene will have to be opened to let all the well-wishers in!

Thank you so much, everyone for the birthday wishes. I am hoping to get out of Owls Dene this afternoon and go over to Carbis Bay beach to walk Morgan firstly, and then have a 'cream tea at the hotel that over looks the water.

This of course depends on whether or not I can get through the gates of Owls Dene, as Rooky and Perton have lost the key to the study, and so I cannot get in to turn the wheel that opens the now rusty old gates

If I manage to get out and have my longed for 'cream tea' I'll let you all know.

Many thanks everyone.

Julie

Happy Birthday!!
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Happy birthday and many happy returns, Julie.
If the study door should prove too difficult, there are three options. First, you may try to open it Rooky's way. :)
Second, you may borrow my lockpicking tools if the worst comes to the worst. It might be difficult for the postman to deliver them to you, however. Besides, I don't know what the surface rate for a crowbar is.
Third, get them to remember where they put the key. Threatening to go on strike might do the trick. That way, they won't get any food which might have a very positive effect on their memory.
Whichever way you opt for, you've earned your cream tea. Enjoy it. And the walk on the beach, too.

Cheers

Dick Kirrin

PS: I wouln't put it past Mr Perton and Rooky to enter the kitchen with beaming grins and the key in their hands. Would be their idea of a joke, just like kidnapping a boy and claiming to have mistaken him for someone else afterwards.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone. It's very much appreciated. I managed to get out of Owls Dene and have my cream tea. It was delicious. This is me before I tucked into the cream

Glad you got out of Owl's Dene, Julie. BTW, how did you get to the beach and the café? Did you borrow Mr Perton's black Bentley KMF 102?
The cream tea certainly looks delicious. :)
Cheers
