Thank you Zaidi.zaidi wrote:HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIE!
How do you feel, and how has life been through all these years and do you still have things and dreams or regrets you may still have! Whats your take on life.
Gosh, what's my take on life. Try to be happy I guess, despite many ups and downs that people throw your way. Dreams, yes, I still have dreams I'd like to come true, regrets, not really, I've always made my own choices in life, and hopefully will be able to continue to do so.

Happy belated birthday, Julie.Julie2owlsdene wrote:Thank you, B.B and John, (L.S.). Yes, I never tire of St Ives and it's harbour, John, even after all these years of living down here in Cornwall.
I hope you had a lovely day!
Sorry, I didn't notice your special day sooner (we were away on a trip and I barely used my husband's laptop).
St. Ives is indeed incredibly beautiful. I've been there once in 1995 on a sunny May day and remember the beautiful walking trail along the harbor plus the pedestrian zone with the many little shops.
There was a jewelry store called The Chinese Cat (I believe) where I bought my previous wrist watch.
If I remember it right, St. Ives was also the model for the Cornish harbor town in "The Shell Seekers" by Rosamunde Pilcher.

Thanks, Chrissie. Hope you enjoyed your trip.
I've not read 'The Shell Seekers,' Chrissie, so I wouldn't know, but I think she did use many Cornish locations for her books. There's a book called To The Lighthouse, which I think Godrevy Lighthouse, in Cornwall, was the inspiration for this particular book.

Yes, we did. Thank you, Julie.
In case you like Daphne DuMaurier's novels: the area around Fowey in Cornwall is a real treasure trove for DDM fans as she actually put more weight on describing real existing locations (than on describing her characters).

Yes, Chrissie, we are blessed to be living in Cornwall where Daphne DuMaurier once lived, and her home - Ferryside- we have seen across the water in Fowey many many times. We have a festival down here once a year for this famous author, and we visit and eat at Jamaica Inn, regularly on Bodmin Moor.

Sorry Zaida, but I'd rather not get too personal on an open forum. But thanks very much for your interests.

Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIE
Thank you, Eddie, Katharine and Anita.
And thanks for the cards, Eddie and Anita, and Tony.
Yes, 50 years of wedded bliss today, and we can't even celebrate with the family, as we're in lockdown.
But I've had some lovely cards and presents, I bought hubby a gold ring and he bought me a gold locket with our faces inside.
