It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

My username was inspired by a character who appeared in my all time favourite Comic Strip - The Leopard from Lime Street, which appeared in Buster Comic.

That's a blast from the past! I always had Buster comic, and remember The Leopard From Lime Street very well indeed!

Me too. Buster was a great comic.

Re: Usernames - Why did you choose yours?
I was browsing through this topic and came across your comment Lucky Star.
Lucky Star is the name of the motorboat in The Sea of Adventure which was the first book I ever read on my own. I have never forgotten the awe I felt at the thought of careering across a vast, island studded sea in a comfy and powerful motorboat. When I decided to join the forums I realised that I needed a username and it was the first Blytonian name to pop into my head.
I had completely forgotten this name from The Sea of Adventure and to think all this time have assumed you must have been a fan of the Australian singer Lucky Star. But when I think of it, he is from my era a bit before your time.
I thought he was really groovy, way back then. Here is a link to one of his songs:

I just saw this link-interesting you ask this - I am actually one of the few here in my real name! Maybe I should re-invent with a Blytonian one!!

Not a bad song Aussie Sue. I quite liked it although I have never previously heard of Lucky Starr. It's a popular name though.Aussie Sue wrote:I was browsing through this topic and came across your comment Lucky Star.

Re: Usernames - Why did you choose yours?
Haven't heard that one for a while! Glad they've given a list of the places under the video, or I'd still be trying to make them out... my one gripe is that he mispronounces Geelong. (It's Gee-long, not Gee-long.) But he does include my birthplace (Dandenong) and the town my dad's ancestors first settled in (Bendigo).Aussie Sue wrote:

Wow - hard one to top that!!vfvd wrote: ↑06 Dec 2013, 21:20 My story is that I was trying to think of a username, but my brain had gone blank so I left the computer to have a break. When I came back, my cat was sitting on the desk next to my computer, and had accidently typed the word "vfvd" onscreen- he uses the keyboard like a garden path. So, I decided it wasn't a bad username and kept it
