Thanks all! :-D

Thought I'd share a photo of a few of the more strange presents I had today! These were off my dad - I chose them, he paid, lol! ;-)

A Dr Who doll - which I'm keeping boxed up as a collector's item of the future...Dr Who annual from 1976 because Tom Baker was my favourite 'Doctor' and I thought it would go well with my other TV annuals - 'Jigsaw', 'Blue Peter' books and 'Rentaghost etc.

The film is Louisiana Purchase - a musical movie I don't have in my vast collection!

And of course I had to buy a cake!! ;-) I'm a big kid at heart lol! :-D

So you won't be able to give Jody a cuddle at night then, Rob. :D

Any chance of a piece of that lovely looking cake? :o

It's only a Sainsbury's cake, but it caught my eye! :D I'll hand out slices to you all, along with a balloon and a little goodie bag as you all go home after the party! ;-)

Can we make it a story party like Enid's at Green Hedges? :D I love that cake too!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

My goodness, Rob, I've not seen Louisiana Purchase for at least 20 years!! In fact, I'd forgotten about the film till I saw your post! If I remember correctly, the plot is about corruption in the US Government, Where a dodgy Senator blames Bob Hope's character for any wrongdoing. I hope I'm right! Tis a lovely film. :D
You've got yourself a nice stash of prezzies. :D I'm sure our F5 formite, Gary Russell, who used to be a script editor for Dr Who, will be checking out your stuff with envious eyes!

Maybe! I've always liked Dr Who but never had an annual before! Louisianna Purchase is one of the few musicals I don't have on DVD - I have around 900 musicals on dvd and a few still on video. I've never seen it before but it is certainly the one you are recalling, about corruption in the US government. The best known song in it was 'It's A Lovely Day Tomorrow'. :D

Belated Happy Birthday Rob. Your collection of presents look great. Tom Baker remains my won all time favourite Dr Who too. And that cake looks scrumptious. :D

Tom Baker is the "proper" Dr Who in my eyes too and I'd have liked that annual as a child. I only had a few TV-related annuals in the 70s - Barnaby the Bear, The Adventures of Black Beauty and Grange Hill.

It's strange how we all seem to have a favourite, noticeably from our childhood era. . I was about 16 when Dr Who was first broadcast so didn't go through childhood with the series, but I guess my preferred one has always been Jon Pertwee.
