It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Re: Happy Birthday, Robert!
Hi all! Thank you so much for the birthday wishes! I thought I should indeed come out of hiding and at least write a thank you reply!
I've been fairly busy - decorating my dad's old bedroom, now I'm in the house alone. Its been a year of change - a real learning curve, as at the age of 48 I was suddenly a house holder for the first time in my life! Coping with that, and a few issues like anxiety - which raised its ugly head through most of 2020 after a few years of being hidden, and of course not helped by Covid, so I've been pretty isolated regarding visitors and trips out.
I'm also attempting to finish a new Enid Blyton novel, as some of you know. I abandoned it in May and its taken a while to pick it up again - two chapters from the end! Hopefully this will be ready for Tony in a week or so now - The Adventurous Four Stand Firm!
Once again thank you for your birthday wishes. It was a shock - but in a way a pleasant one - to reach 50! Don't know how that happened...I was only 30 a year or so ago, lol!
Cheers
Rob

Good to see you posting again.
I think a lot of us have that reaction when we reach 50.Rob Houghton wrote: It was a shock - but in a way a pleasant one - to reach 50! Don't know how that happened...I was only 30 a year or so ago, lol!

Great to hear from you, Rob. Your situation is totally understandable. Life can certainly get you down at times, especially with a multitude of things happening almost all at once. You'll bounce back, so no worries!

Our elder daughter was 50 on Christmas Eve and it didn't seem to bother her. However, it reminded me that I'M getting even older!!

Great to hear from you, Rob. I'm sure the new novel will be fantastic. Don't worry about your age, I'm 66 but only in body. I'm still 15 in my head.
