Miss Marple, Sex and the City
The popular theme tune takes on a new twist
Surely this year’s most extraordinary chart contender is the single Evensong - a winning collaboration between legendary hit composers Ken Howard and Alan Blaikley and award-winning a cappella octet VOCES8, which aims to propel choral music into the national best-sellers.
The result is Evensong - an intriguing version of Howard and Blaikley’s unforgettable theme tune from BBC TV’s Miss Marple featuring a haunting new lyric, combined with the glorious, beautifully blended voices of VOCES8.
I have just been sent a link to Evensong by Society member Alan Blaikley. He and Ken Howard (who wrote, produced and directed Sunny Stories) have adapted their original theme from the Miss Marple series and released it as a single to see if they can have some success in the charts leading up to Christmas.

Re: Howard and Blaikley Collaboration
I wonder where it will get to in the charts? I didn't realise the original theme tune had been released until I saw it in a charity shop this summer, and bought it for a few pence, since it seemed a curiosity to have a record with Joan Hickson's face on the cover. Now I just need to find a record player to play it on!
Gwendoline lay down, angry. She determined to make herself miserable and cry.

What a lovely video, words to Miss Marple.
It inspires one to get the pen out and write a mystery
