Calm Down Nigel!

Everyone always knew there would be problems!
"You're so sharp you'll cut yourself one day!" Hunchy said going to the door
"So my Mother told me that when I was two years old!" said Julian and the others giggled.

Never mind Nigel. Pull yourself your favourite pint and sit back and watch a 78's version of THE FAMOUS FIVE

Julian gave an exclamation and nudged George.
"See that? It's the black Bentley again. KMF 102!"

Avoiding sport...

I've just acquired the Galliano series, so am reading those. They are great - I don't think I've ever read them before.

You don't give up - nearly as bad as Bangla-Girl! Telling me to "calm down", that's why. It's just one more thing to add to my list!!!!

its probably refering to the old-fashioned term 'beast', meaning bad or unkind,
mentioned in many enid blyton books such as Darell calling Gwen a beast. the ing part probably means he'll be mean to stef in may

A beasting is an army term, it usually entails extreme punishment. Therefore, Pippa-Stef should be prepared for a good beating or other form of physical punishment.

Of course, come May, I may well have mellowed!

I also hate sports coverage on both commercial, and free to air, television stations, as well. I'll also be glad, when the Olympics have finished.

Am I the only person here taking any interest in the Olympics at all? But then, that is probably because boyfriend Mark is out there. As a spectator I hasten to add! This is the 5th Olympiad he has been to.

His family are sports mad, and he did club level athletics for many years (Or running round in circles, as I prefer to put it).

On balance, I think that sport is "a good thing", given the daft alternatives that the human race find to do.

If I'm going to expend some energy, I'd rather use it constructively and dig out a pond than run round in a circle, but each to their own...

So I have been given a list of the events he is watching, (but I didn't bother to ask his seat number) so as to show a modicom of interest when I e-mail.

Do you remember Amanda training for the Olympics in Last Term at MT? Blyton must have taken some interest in the 1948 Olympics!

best wishes
