The Royal Cornwall show started today, and runs through till Saturday evening. Sarah and I went today, with Brynley, my youngest granson. We met Su Pollard, (Peggy from Hi di Hi), she's down here in a show called Shout, which runs from Monday 9th till Saturday 14th. She signed our programme, and I took a picture of her. She's so lovely, and down to earth, and speaks like she does on the TV. I've a bad throat at the minute and sound a bit croaky, so she was chatting about that saying how bad some of these virus's are. What a really lovely lady she is.

Re: Royal Cornwall Show
I met Su Pollard a few years ago on a Waterloo to Portsmouth service. I found her to be quite extraordinary and not very different to the sort of characters that she has played on television. I loved her portrayal of Peggy in Hi-De-Hi, pathos and comedy side by side.Julie2owlsdene wrote: We met Su Pollard, (Peggy from Hi di Hi)

I like her in You Rang M'lord, alongside the 80s Island of Adventure actor Perry Benson.
Gwendoline lay down, angry. She determined to make herself miserable and cry.

Su also appeared with him in a later series, along with Paul Shane and Jeffrey Holland, called Oh Doctor Beeching. I love this series, as it is dated in the early 60's, alongside the steam trains.
