Why order from the US, Wolfgang when you can get it from Amazon.de?

I had ordered the Perry Mason DVDs on Amazon, so it's also not that reliable, either. I had tried a reliable shop (according to ebay).

Having to go to the Customs' office when ordering from a company located in the EU.
The Perry Mason DVDs couldn't be declared by the parcel service because essential information was missing. They are an import from the USA. Additionally I had to pay 19% taxes... I asked the seller (more or less) politely if this is the usual way. Let's see what their answer will be.

I will see, Katharine, I will see. At least I will get a refund of the taxes I paid, which was about 43€.

Hope you get reimbursed Wolfgang - that amount could go towards a new hard drive?

The new hard drive arrived yesterday. I've already started copying data from my BR-disks, but as I said, it takes time, it's a matter of time...

My two newest harddrives support USB 3.0, my retired PC, my Internet PC and my new gaming/working PC as well. But admittedly I don't use them that much. Much more important was the upgrade of my LAN-System from 100MBit to 1GBit about two years ago.

I don't think so, Pete; it seems that updates on Local network infrastructure use the factor ten: from 10 to 100, from 100 to 1000. I haven't seen a network card offering 200MBit or 500...

On Friday I received a message from Amazon about a product I bought in 2012. They were warning about overheating, a warning that seemed plausible to me because the power supply contact in the devide had become too hot and some of the plastic had molten so it's a bit tricky now to get the device to run again.
The official site looks good enough, I had checked out in advance if there was a chance of a hoax side. On this official site they give three URLs (depending on the country) and ask the people to get in touch. Unfortunately these three URLs don't exist :x.
