Hope your birthday is wonderful, Anita.

Thanks very much indeed for all the birthday wishes and images. :D Thanks too for the birthday cards which I've had from several Blyton chums - they're really lovely and the one from Eddie is Blytonian, featuring The O'Sullivan Twins. On the subject of Enid Blyton, I also received some audio cassettes of the 1970s Famous Five series in German. They have attractive covers showing stills from the series.

I had an early birthday celebration when my daughter and son were here recently - we went out for an Italian meal one lunchtime and then came back and had cake, presents, games and a birthday tea. Today I was at work, but after work I enjoyed watching a favourite film (Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang) on DVD. Tomorrow I'm meeting up with Tony and we're going to see the musical Buddy in Southampton, so I'm looking forward to that.

Hope you enjoy Buddy, Anita.

Enid and I went to see it in the West End in 1999 when we spent a weekend in London celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary.

I saw it in Southend with my daughter in 2011 and we thought it was great, so I'm glad to have the chance to see it again.
