Re: Monthly Quiz
If I don't know an answer I just pick one and move on. I used to deliberate for ages and then still get it wrong, so I find my time is better served if I make a quick guess.
I still curse all the questions about Enid's life and the publishing date ones. These are the ones I guess all the time, along with those from books I have been unable to find.

Re: Monthly Quiz
A deceptive quiz this month. I didn't think it was too difficult, but I only got 19, so tougher than it looked. Although I think there were quite a few dates in there which is always a stumbling block for me.

Re: Monthly Quiz
Better than last month - 23 this time. In just over 2 minutes. What can I say? I'm a fast reader. I'm usually reading the next question even as I scroll down (by dragging the scroll bar for a smoother result).
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Re: Monthly Quiz
As it is Jan 1st I decided to try the new quiz. After about three questions I felt that it was the same quiz as December so I aborted my attempt and went to check the "answers for December". Sure enough it was the same. Down the bottom it had a link to try the January quiz. I hit it only to be told that my name was already in use and to use another one.
This happened to me once before on the 1st day of the new month. Today I waited until almost 5pm my time to allow for the time difference, but I still got caught out.
Somebody fixed it up for me last time so I could have another go at the "real" January quiz.

Re: Monthly Quiz
Sorry about that, Snugglepot. I think Tony must have worked his magic on it by now - either that or a little longer was needed for the timing problem to resolve itself. Your name isn't on the board for January so you should be able to do the quiz now. Please let us know if you have any further trouble.
CONGRATULATIONS to Gran/Daisy, Mr Lenoir and LauraMcC on coming first, second and third overall in 2016!

Re: Monthly Quiz
2017 begins with a fairly abysmal 16 for me.

Re: Monthly Quiz
The quiz often doesn't change at midnight, so its best to wait until quite late the next day!
24 for me...but I took over 5 minutes, lol!
I see T F Carthick has appeared again...and scored 28 in only 1 minute 28 seconds.

Re: Monthly Quiz
19 for me. A bit better than expected, but for once there were quite a few that I knew for sure!
I see in the score chart I'm just above Five Pummel Offensive Author... now whoever would think of that??

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Re: Monthly Quiz
Thankfully, I was able to do the proper January quiz this morning.
A score of 20. Not bad.

Re: Monthly Quiz
I wanted to do the quiz with my usual name of Mr Lenoir but someone has already used it.
I suppose I could use a new name, but I'd like to keep using that one if possible.

Re: Monthly Quiz
Sorry about that, Lenoir. I've just deleted the bogus "Mr Lenoir" so you should be able to have a go now.

That was quick! That's great, thanks Anita.
