Like the following description:
"Die Texte wurden behutsam gekürzt, indem beispielsweise erzählte Wiederholungen des gerade schon Geschehenen und Gelesenen gestrichen wurden. Das Setting wurde zurück ins alte England verlegt. Mit neuen Illustrationen und kürzeren Texten sollen die Geschichten attraktiver für ein jüngeres Lesepublikum werden."
translation by deepl:
"The texts have been carefully shortened, for example by deleting repetitions of what has just happened and what has already been read. The setting was moved back to old England. With new illustrations and shorter texts, the stories should be more attractive for a younger reading audience. I have taken over the illustrations of the new series."

Thanks for the translation Wolfgang, I don't think my school room German could have coped with that.

I'm intrigued by the comment about it being moved back to old England though. Surely as the books were written over 60 years ago that would make them 'old' to modern readers, or do they mean they are now set in the Victorian era?

The description was about the books from 2014 on. I think the books had been modernized previously.

Thanks for that, it makes more sense now. So basically they have probably been taken back to their original era.

I'm always interested to see different artists' interpretations of the characters. The children look rather long and stringy in Gerd Raidt's illustrations though - and Timmy is even worse! He obviously isn't getting enough Waggomeat!
