Many thanks for all the thoughtful, appreciative comments about Betty Maxey's artwork.
Here's another picture which shows her abilities in yet another artistic style:

I'm just mightily relieved that Pete prevented me having to reach for my smelling salts!Boatbuilder wrote:They’re not subtle colours and lighting, Anita. They’re Pete’s attempt at censorship.Anita Bensoussane wrote:The nude is beautiful too, with the subtle colours and lighting.
I'm not too keen on all the dark lines in the horse picture but it's fascinating to see the different styles Betty Maxey experimented with, Pete.

A final pic for today - a watercolour?

Most elegant, and it's great to see Journal 53 putting in an appearance!

Another Maxey - I quite like this one. Is it the same lady from the image above?

It does look like the same lady. What an eye-catching picture. The white space in the top right and bottom left corners concentrates our gaze in the centre, making the whole thing seem very cosy and intimate.

Another style from Betty - Wonder if that school really exists?

Thanks, Pete. I'm really enjoying seeing these. Nice autumnal-looking colours in that one.

Reminds me of Grange Hill for some reason.
