Sorry about your shop closing, Chloe. We too owned a shop once and it's hard work, once the door is closed to the public, you still have work to do, it's never ending.

Sorry to hear you have closed, Chloe. We researched wooden train sets on the Internet, then trekked to your shop to buy one, just before Christmas! Sadly, we missed you, but your charming sales assistant was a great help. I wish you well in whatever you do next.

I am really sad I missed you - would have been lovely to meet someone from here.

I hope the trainset was a success and that the girls looked after you in my absense. :D

When I tried to put something on a few weeks ago it didn't show up, even though I thought I'd followed all instructions! :?

Maybe they didn't like mine! Unless it's a case of I've still not got the hang of how to use a computor and the internet!! :?

I've just written my review of your wonderful Eileen Soper's Illustrated World, Viv. :D I hope you like it. As I write this it has not appeared on the TripAdvisor website; it is pending. I'm hoping it will appear shortly.
'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.

Sorry folks - I hadn't noticed the recent activity on this thread

However... I have just noticed that Trip Advisor rates us above Sandbanks and #3 of things to do in Poole :D

http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction ... gland.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Mark tells me that a gran-and-lad visited today, and the boy seemed to have some sort of autism, and wasn't expected to last longer than 20 minutes. However, they stayed nearly 3 hours as he kept on finding new things to take his interest.

I was at Corfe, where there was a Viking encampment in the castle. I had to keep fending off disgruntled Vikings who wanted to pillage the post office cash machine - which is closed until Tuesday...

Gay they were not!

Viv of Ginger Pop wrote:I have had a perfectly dreadful few weeks, the upshot of which is that it looks as if the Poole Ginger Pop Shop along with Eileen Soper’s Illustrated Worlds will close sometime next year.
I have noticed a certain amount of optimism in your recent posts, Viv. You are getting positive feedback on Trip Advisor, but I don't think I've seen any comment from you on the future of your Poole venue for a while. Are you still planning to close? Hopefully, things have picked up as you are still open, and I am sure we are all pleased if this is the case. I can't believe that we are almost half way through the year now, visitor numbers should soon be picking up.

Hopefully this will be a good summer for Dorset in general, especially with the Olympics and the sailing being held in nearby Weymouth.

Poole Quay and the shop are nicely set for coach trips, and there is a lot to see for visitors within 1/2 mile of Poole Pottery. It would be good to see more day trips to Poole to help promote the town.

We are feeling more confident about the summer. Given that we need a month's notice, a restaurant would need at least a month to change Planning Permission, and it would take at least a month for someone to design and install something else, it doesn't look realistic for someone else to take the building this season!

I have been really worried about the Famous Five Adventure Trail 2012 which I have been working on for 6 years - and everyone else was set to benefit from except me if my Attraction closed! The Clue at Eileen Soper's is transportable should we have to close in a hurry!

Hodders are sorting out the Clue Sheet this week, and hopefuly there will be some to distribute at Twyford on Saturday :D
