Spanish Famous Five Covers.
Here you are three covers. They´re ilustrated by José Correas, in my opinion they´re really good.
I think Mr.Correas was based on Eileen Soper, What´s your opinion?
By the way, the titles are:
FIVE ON A TREASURE ISLAND / LOS CINCO Y EL TESORO DE LA ISLA
FIVE GO ADVERTURING AGAIN / OTRA AVENTURA DE LOS CINCO
FIVE RUN AWAY TOGETHER / LOS CINCO SE ESCAPAN JUNTOS
P.S.: If you like I could scan all the covers.
George and Tim
Anne and Tim
Dick and Tim

Re: Spanish Famous Five Covers.
The covers of the Spanish books are certainly different from the original covers when the books were first published, Oscar. If you go to the home page and have a look in the cave of books, you will find all the Famous Five titles and will be able to see how much different they are.
Julian gave an exclamation and nudged George.

Those are nice covers - but am I alone in thinking that the too-red lips make George look very like a girl?!

Ha,ha,ha!! Don´t worry, this day she puts on her some colour in the lips just for the "photo" under editor´s pressure.Ming wrote:Those are nice covers - but am I alone in thinking that the too-red lips make George look very like a girl?!
By the way, here I have three more covers that, in my opinion, are directly inspirated in Soper work.
FIVE GO OFF IN A CARAVAN
FIVE GO TO MISTERY MOOR
FIVE GET INTO A FIX
Edited: My God! In FIVE GO OFF IN A CARAVAN... George with skirt and blond!!

Never mind the lips, isn't the skirt a bit of a giveaway?Philip Mannering wrote:No you are not, Ming. I too think the same.Ming wrote:Those are nice covers - but am I alone in thinking that the too-red lips make George look very like a girl?!

No Moonraker, the thing is that her trousers are wet, then she is wearing an Anne´s skirt! (But Enid don´t say nothing about in the novel because George revised the book before the publication)

Nice to see the covers for the Spanish books, Oscar, when you say the new covers, does that mean they are up to date for 2009.
Timmy looks so different from the books I have. He looks more like the Timmy I know on the cover of Five Go Off To Camp.
It's nice to see them.

Re: Spanish Famous Five Covers.
I like the Los Cinco Se Escapan cover best. The colours are muted yet attractive and I like the alert, serious expressions of the child (I'm not sure whether it's George or Dick) and Timmy.

Re: Spanish Famous Five Covers.
Thanks, Oscar. It's nice that the first four book covers each focus on one of the four children.

Re: Spanish Famous Five Covers.
The first three with George, Anne and Dick are lovely but I'm not so keen on the Julian one (Smuggler's Top) as he looks thoroughly disgruntled.

Re: Spanish Famous Five Covers.
You say these are the first Spanish editions, Oscar, if you can give me the date they were published and the publisher I will put one into the Cave to see what people think - shall we say Five on a Treasure Island as a trial.
