Re: New Weekly Serial
It would be awkward for Tony, serialising another Barney Mystery straight after Julie's Barney Mystery...which is why the book I'm working on at the moment - which also happens to be a Barney Mystery - won't see the light of day for some time! It's been in the planning stage for months, then I lost two chapters when my laptop broke last year, so I had to start again. Even though I knew by then that Julie had also written one, I had to 'get it out of my system' before moving on to something else! After I write it, I'm hoping to write something different.
It would be great to be able to read other people's follow-on novels though! I'm particularly envious of anyone who writes an Adventure book...although I admit the main thing that puts me off is Kiki. I can't stand her, so she's have to be disposed of in the first chapter!!

Cathy, that would be great!Carlotta King wrote:Dinah, I've got an Adventure book planned out. I know the Adventure books even better than the Barney ones, Adventure is definitely my most-read and favourite series.
I'll let you know when I've started it, maybe I'll start it within the next couple of weeks.

Re: New Weekly Serial
I was only thinking that three Barney books by three different authors might be a bit much - about two year's worth! !

I would really love if you would write a Adventure-Story, I'm already looking forward to it! Have you had time to begin?Carlotta King wrote: Dinah, I've got an Adventure book planned out. I began reading this story, so I think, I would love you to first finish this story and then begin the Adventure one. The Barney Story is really good, I'm enjoying it a lot!No, it's on Fiona's Blyton blog (well half of it anyway, as my laptop broke and I couldn't write the rest!) so there's no point putting it anywhere else when it can be read for free there.

Re: New Weekly Serial
Oh dear, I dont want to cause bother!
Sorry if I've annoyed anyone by mentioning my writing; we're all Blyton fans and this is the place for everything Blyton, so I thought it might be of interest to people who like reading continuation books, even though it's not a society serial.
Obviously if its a problem to have non a society writing merntioned then feel free to remove my posts about my writing, I don't mind.
If anyone wants to talk about my writing feel free to pm me

Re: New Weekly Serial
I didn't really mean it to come across as badly as perhaps it did - I mean - I was also discussing other people's writing further up, so I'm equally to blame - please don't take it personally...I was merely commenting that it seems a shame that Julie's serial isn't discussed much but others, often yet to be written, are being discussed.
I know how it feels to have a serial running that seems to be being ignored. Anyone who gets a series running on here will soon know what I mean!!!

Re: New Weekly Serial
I know what Robert means, if no one is talking about your serial, then you take it to mean that no one is reading it, or doesn't like it.
Most of the serials I've written were only discussed at the beginning, and then when it was finished. So I guess I'm used to no other comments.
