Re: Children of Kidillin in DJ
Thanks for that link IceMaiden. I bought the book for the asking price (£3.99 + £2.15 postage) and it arrived today. I'm very pleased with the condition - very good! The dj has a clear cover protecting it which is fully removable. Here are some pics I have taken. Now looking forward to reading it as I have not read it before.

That looks like a good buy, John (Boatbuilder). My copy is only a Collins 2-in-1 (The Children of Kidillin and Mischief at St. Rollo's) and it doesn't have a dustwrapper. However, it's special to me as I picked it up at a school Bring-and-Buy Sale when I was eleven. It was one of the last Enid Blyton books I bought as a child and it cost 5p. Although The Children of Kidillin is quite short, it's pretty exciting once it gets going.

I also bought the Collins 2-in-1 from a charity shop in Exeter. It cost me £5.00.

Well bought, John BB! I read The Children of Kidillin a few years ago and totally agree with Anita that, while it's short, it's a rollicking good story. The Scottish setting gives it a bit of extra colour (I quite enjoyed the banter between the Scottish and English cousins) and it's one of the very few stories where Enid mentions the war...

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I'm glad I put a link to it now BB, I though somebody might like it as it was such a good price . I agree with Anita and Courtenay that it's a really great little story, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It's one of very few cases where I prefer the later edition dustjackets over the originals as I much rather all six Werner laurie ones (though St Rollos looks a bit odd one out as it doesn't match the more pastel colours of the others for some reason).
