Re: A Childhood at Green Hedges
I can't believe how much this book seems to go for! I only paid about £1 for mine, as it was on sale at our local library years ago!!
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

Slightly cheaper on amazon Rob - unless you want a new copy!

Both books do seem rather expensive. I think I paid about £8 or £9 for mine from E-Bay a few years ago. I suppose it depends on how desperately someone wants to own a copy. I probably had to wait a year or so before a 'cheap' copy came up.

I bought it for £38 on Ebay many years ago and put it in a box somewhere. I bought it again for £19 via Amazon UK four months ago this year because I had a sudden urge to reread the book and could not locate my copy! Both books have dust jackets in very good condition. I will definitely sell one later. I didn’t mind buying the second copy because I knew the book will sell like hot cakes.

Re: A Childhood at Green Hedges
I've just checked and my copy actually cost £2.50. It is however ex-library, with a stamp page of dates in the front, so would probably be on the cheaper side compared to others.

Mine is also ex-library, a gift from my mum a few years back. I doubt she would have paid more than £10-12 for it.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.
