Good example of a bad listing!

Post by Rob Houghton »

I know that calling all printings of Famous Five books (from 1942 to 1972) 'First Editions' is quite acceptable...but it gets my goat!

here's a great example of a bad listing - the headline says 'All first editions later printing' - but its 'First Editions' that leaps out. Then you discover 'all but two' of the dust jackets are scans...and then you discover that most of the scans are 'pixilated or fuzzy'

Still, about 5 to 6 £ per book it's not too bad an offer.

I guess so, when you work it out - and also many buyers on eBay aren't too discerning! I've been known to have two books for sale at the same time - one was 'Dog Stories' by Enid Blyton - two books in one. I had a scruffy one in a copy dust wrapper for £7.50 and a pristine one in original dust wrapper for £10.00 - but it was the £7.50 with copy cover that was snapped up, just because it was £3 cheaper. This happens a lot, so many people prefer to buy books without the dust wrapper because they are cheaper. :?
