Yes, unfortunately Liam has not compiled details from every EB book ever... (Hint hint, Liam, if you happen to be reading! )
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

But once you've experienced five tins of tinned tongue it will feel like a whole lot more.. :D

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

My Kindle's screen isn't illuminated, so there is no 'glare'. In fact, there is no difference in light emission from reading on paper.
I guess you must be talking about something else if you could definitely see that Nigel bought it.

Just thinking — Dissecting the Magic of Enid Blyton's Famous Five may not be to my personal taste as a title, but at least it makes more sense (as does the book as a whole, I would hope) than the legendary Enid Blyton: 234 Success Facts by Martha McClure.

At least both those titles contain real words. Anecdotally, I can think of another that doesn't

I've just read this thread and had to grin about some of the contents, and marvelled at the way I think Courtenay and Rob, wriggled off the hook, when discovered it was Liam from here who wrote this book!

I've not read this as I don't have a kindle anyway, but can imagine the dedication that went into writing it. :)

Julian gave an exclamation and nudged George.
"See that? It's the black Bentley again. KMF 102!"

Glad you noticed the skill and dexterity I employed in wriggling off the hook, lol!

Seriously though, it would probably be a very useful book, especially for someone writing continuation novels, for example, if they wanted to know the correct type of food or weather or illness the five were used to! :-D

I don't have a Kindle either, so it would have to be a free paper copy!! ;-)

It is nice to know that I am not the only Neanderthal who wants proper books, despite a distinct lack of any shelf space! Needless to say I (the Society Archives) don't have a copy either!

Oh my! Just saw this. Rob at it again. Trying to get my back up again, Rob? It won’t work this time. I’ve given up all hope of trying to convince you of anything!
