Ebay signed copy of 'The Valley of Adventure' - not genuine?

Post by Rob Houghton »

There's a signed edition of Valley on offer on ebay...no dust wrapper...and signed in what looks like a biro that's running out! Surely not genuine?

'only' £ 499.95

Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes

Could be genuine but I wouldn't think it was worth £500. It hasn't got a wrapper for a start.

I would say that the signature is definitely genuine and somebody handed Enid a fairly ropy biro with which to sign the book! I would also agree that the book is heavily overpriced and I doubt if it will sell.

On the bright side, at least they're generous enough to offer free P&P.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

If I was paying a large amount to get a signed book, I'd at least want a nicely written  signature!

I wonder when they'll get the message that even that is too high a price to pay.

After comparing the signature with a well know 'copy' I agree with Tony that the signature is indeed genuine! :D

Or at least, whoever signed this one, it wasn't Grud Blyton.

I've only ever seen one Grud Blyton signature - must be considerably more rare. 8)

"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.
