I haven't seen any of the Brown Family stories for sale before but I don't browse eBay on a regular basis any more. Seems like a fair price for something I think is very uncommon.

Here it is in the Cave - http://www.enidblytonsociety.co.uk/book ... own+Family" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - but no further information other than the publication details. Maybe Tony knows more?

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

That's a very good price for this book. I bought it on eBay for £30 reduced down from the original £45 they wanted! I'd been after this book for a while after seeing it at an Enid Blyton day going for £50. Interesting to see how much it goes for.
If I could live here on this secret island always and always and always, and never grow up at all, I would be quite happy

I was the original bidder on this item and was for the last few days.

However,I thought someone here might want it more than me,especially as the other copy currently on ebay is a lot more expensive.
Good luck if you are bidding on it.I'm not going to bid any more on it. :D

The other copy @ £78.75

They're selling this one quite cheap.I've never seen it in a more modern (1974) version:

It is only a slim paperback, Pete! It should be in the Cave as it is in my Bibliography, but it is a series of four books as far as I remember and I couldn't find the two that came out in 1975 to scan them, but I have got them somewhere. I will come up with the titles at some stage if I can locate my addled brain! :(

I got it! :D (The one Pete first showed us, NOT the Stella & Rose one. :P )

Some other late bidder hiked up the price by a few quid at the last minute (drat it), but mine was still the top bid! (And here's me trying to save money at the moment. But book-buying is one of my only two expensive addictions. The other one is cross stitch. )

I'm looking forward to reading this one - I love the cover illustration, and just reading the first page that was shown in the photo, it sounds like it'll be a charming and heartwarming little family story.

Congratulations on getting The Brown Family, Courtenay! You'll have to let us know what it's like when you've had a chance to read it.

I will! :D I'd be happy to write a blurb or even a full review for the Cave, too, since it doesn't have anything about it there at the moment.
