I'm afraid you are on a loser here, Liz, as you can 'buy it now' for under £3 on ebay and that includes postage!!

Yes,I am currrently awaiting delivery of a copy of the same book that I recently ordered from ebay myself described as being in very good condition for 99p!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=a ... m270.l1313" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Aunt Fanny is right about the original selling price of £25 a few years back and I almost feel very guilty to be able to buy such a classy book (albeit unsigned) for such a small amount.
I suppose this is balanced out by the fact that as Enid Blyton book collectors we all sometimes have to pay hugely inflated prices for some of the books we add to our collections that are hard to find or get hold of.

If there was not such a decent supply on ebay I would actually be quite happy to pay Aunt Fanny £18 for this book,as it seems to include a couple of short stories I have never read before.

Is the artwork included in this book modern or from the original illustrators I wonder? Thats the only thing I couldnt tell from the reviews /descriptions I have read online....

Regards

Pete

I am finding it very hard to track down any old Green Hedges/Society journals anywhere at present!

I'm really enjoying this book, its a fantastic read with original illustrations in colour.
Thing is, every time I read it I feel like eating a Cadbury Picnic bar,and keep popping out to buy one...
I couldn't work out why this could be until a member of the family pointed out that the colours used for the books cover and the picnic bar are somewhat similar, and there could be something subliminal going on in the mind! :D

Hi Pete
I used to have a few of the Green Hedges mags, but think they were sold. Will have a look, if not I think a friend has some.
I also have the Blyton Society mags--up to date , from issue 1 onwards, which I may sadly have to sell :(
Best wishes liz

My daughter and I both loved your story about Enid Blyton's Adventure Treasury and the Picnic bar, Pete!

There's a boy in the year above me and he reminds me of koalas.

If only we had a prize for the most hilariously random post!

"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.
