Re: Enid Blyton Caravan
Thank you for all your interest in this very unique caravan. The mystery as to the 1964 forged EB receipt, and the build location still intrigues me greatly. It was mentioned, in this thread, that in 1964, £100 did seem a lot of money for a caravan that was possibly 9 years old, we now know it was b...

Re: Enid Blyton Caravan
Hi all, at last I've finished the caravan restoration and have now displayed it, for the first time in 43 years, at the Beaulieu Motor Museum. I have set it out as if it had been owned by Enid, named her Enid, and explained the mystery of the receipt to those interested. I have since found the actua...

Re: Enid Blyton Caravan
Hi Tony, yes the paper is lined on the back. The address is not embossed but a print. The one thing I am sure about is the paper is definately from the 50s/60s after showing a friends friend, who has been in the graphics industry all his life. My opinion is, this is from the 60s but I am so confused...

Re: Enid Blyton Caravan
Daisy, the estate WAS that of Mr Baker, I collected the caravan from his home in Harrow, where he had lived for 50+yrs. Their was also his Morris Minor parked along side the folding caravan, in the double garage but between the excecutor noting the property items for sale and the 10 days before I co...

Katherine, of course I will, if that's what you want. It will feel wrong though as this is a forum for EB subjects, not caravan restorations...ha ha

Re: Enid Blyton Caravan
Hi Rob, if the caravan had been owned by Enid I would have got the seating covers repaired in a bid to hide the frayed edges on one of the cushions that a hungry mouse had grown fond of. I would have renewed the stained curtains for a similer yellow in colour and replaced the one multi coloured curt...

Re: Enid Blyton Caravan
Well what a great collection of views... from all these comments, something still niggles me, this caravan had been tucked away in a garage in Harrow and not used since 1974. Inside was all sorts of clues as to its last use IE camping pitch fee receipts, newspapers and magazines etc, all relating to...

Re: Enid Blyton Caravan
Thanks Guys, I really appreciate these views, if anyone should know, it will be here, for sure. Note the 1963, Surrey stamped envelope the receipt was stored in. I assume Mr Baker, or maybe Mrs Baker, was aware who Enid was and decided to store the receipt as a keepsake. I have gone to further extre...

Re: Enid Blyton Caravan
Hi Rob, I have no problem posting a copy of the receipt but would like some advise from someone first. I am told that placing any sort of document to the www can have ownership rights if trademarks are involved, and of course, this does.

Re: Enid Blyton Caravan
Hi All, thanks for the replies. Sorry Anita, I have no idea whether Enid Blyton used this lovely caravan personally, or if she purchased it for her Grandchildren and, or young visitors, or even if she personally bought it at all. I'd like to think she did and would assume that as she personally sold...
