Re: The 77/78 TV series: Little mistakes and special moments

Some more interesting things I've spotted listed below after watching another chunk of FF episodes. I hope that people don't think that I am being critical of the series by posting. Actually I love the series and it brings back happy memories from childhood. I think that all the things I've spotted ...

Re: The 77/78 TV series: Little mistakes and special moments

I've been re-watching the full series from beginning to end and have spotted a few interesting things that are of relevance to this thread and which I think haven't been mentioned before. First in 'Five Go Adventuring Again'. When the children are being chased through the tunnel near the end, Mr. Wi...

Not really a secret room or passage but in Hike there are cellars in Two Trees!

Re: Famous Five '78 series Memorabilia - UPDATED 130507 Page

It really is an Aladdin's cave Anita, a real treasure! :-) It really is fantastic to have a resource like it with everything related to Enid in the one place :-) I hadn't noticed the spelling of Ann. I was 8 to 9 when the original series was televised and I do not remember very much merchandise at t...

Re: Famous Five '78 series Memorabilia - UPDATED 130507 Page

Tony I've spent many a happy hour over the years browsing through the vast amount of information on your site and not just on the forums but I just really liked the vibrant picture from the LP and thought I'd like to share it with like minded people. I'm sorry if you feel that my contribution someho...

Re: Famous Five '78 series Memorabilia - UPDATED 130507 Page

I listened through the LP and it's actually quite good. Not voiced by the actors from the TV series though and more or less authentic to the book!!

Re: Famous Five '78 series Memorabilia

Split from another topic. Hi there, I recently came across an LP album of Five On A Treasure Island from the '70's TV series. I thought the photo of the 'five' was nice so thought I'd share it. (Also like it because I had a T-Shirt just like Dick's when I was about 10 so it also brings back happy m...

Re: 70s Famous Five on DVD?

Received my copy too and I've already watched the interview which I really enjoyed. It was lovely to see how well everyone got on, really happy friendly atmosphere. I was intrigued at the story about how there were two scuba divers supporting the raft in 'Five on a hike together'. I re-watched the e...

Re: How many Famous Five books did Enid Blyton write?

Probably Brigitte Blobel created those books from beginning to end. Hi Chrissie777, Thanks from me for bringing up an interesting subject! Facinating to delve into the world of the new versions and Tony's posting of Enid's diary notes are worth it alone. I think I mentioned before on one of the for...

Re: Famous Five and Secret Seven Sequels

I think I still have quite a few of the continuation Famous Five books somewhere at home. I remember that I had absolutely devoured all the original Enid Blyton FF books and wanted the adventures to continue so badly that I went straight into the Claude Voilier books. Somehow I agree with the previo...

Re: RE : Famous Five Paperback Books - 70's TV Series Covers

Great post, myself and my sisters often mused over the mismatched photos on the books back when we were reading them first in the 70's and early 80's!
Nice to get the breakdown here in this post!!

Re: DVD Release of the '57 and '64 Adventure Serials

I bought both episodes of the BFI episodes and while I did think myself that they were a bit ropey I just want to say that I showed then to my sister's three children who are 5, 4 and 2 and they absolutely loved them!! They loved the 'well' scenes in 'Mystery to Solve' especially and asked me for we...

Re: The 77/78 TV series: Little mistakes and special moments

Funny that the discussion came around to the lack of steam locomotion in 'Five go down to the sea'. I've just spent a few weekends viewing the German release, (although I have VHS of all the episodes too), and in 'Five go off to Camp' there are steam trains running under the moors where the 'five' a...

Hi,

I've pre-ordered Gary's book too and really looking forward to getting it, whenever it arrives.
As previously mentioned I'd rather wait and get a polished article than a rushed version that's thrown together to meet a deadline. I'll savour it all the more when it arrives :-),
