Re: Your first and last Famous Five?
I think my first one was Get into Trouble and I loved it, but I think my last one was one of the later, and weaker, titles.

Re: Adventure series Readathon
I've just blasted my way through Island of Adventure in two days, fab read! I think it's got all of Enid's strongest characteristics and she plays them at her best, a great read throughout, and I loved the Indiana Jones-esque ending!

Re: Dr Who
I hope Peter will bring some darkness to the role, in a similar way that Christopher Eccleston did so. To be honest, I stopped watching the show after the first Matt Smith series, as I found it becoming very confusing and Matt, although I think he's a fab Doctor, rather more childlike than I would'v...

Durham/Lindisfarne holiday
Hi guys:) A while ago I posted in Castle of Interest about my holiday to Durham/Lindisfarne and that I was making a montage movie of my time there, well here it is! Well, the first part anyway! It's probably going to take for-EVER to edit/upload the whole thing, so I'm doing it day by day for each m...

Re: Last Song You Listened To
Just got back from seeing Santana in Birmingham, they were amazing! I've never danced like such a prat in all my life! The guy (Carlos Santana) is in his 70's now I believe and yet he can still shred like Hendrix!

Re: The Railway Series (Thomas the Tank Engine)
I remember those small books prior to the television series. I'm not too familiar with the individual stories, but I certainly loved those detailed, glossy pictures inside. Does anyone remember that fantastic frontispiece in the books showing several trains and the surrounding countryside all in a ...

Re: The Railway Series (Thomas the Tank Engine)
When my son was about six, we went to a "Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends" event at Tenterden in Kent. Very enjoyable - there was someone dressed up as the Fat Controller, several of the trains from the books were there (we had a ride in one of them which "broke down" and had ...

Re: The Railway Series (Thomas the Tank Engine)
Back in the 1970s and early 1980s, I remember some of the Thomas the Tank Engine books being read on the radio. I can't remember who read them, but he did a wonderful job with all the train noises! So that was my first exposure to Thomas the Tank Engine. Does anyone else remember these stories bein...

Yes you should Ming! And be warned, there's about 30 books from the original series, good luck hunting!

The Railway Series (Thomas the Tank Engine)
Merged with an older thread. Hi guys :) I suddenly thought of searching for Wilbert Awdry's Thomas books, and lo and behold, they don't seem to be here! Like most kids of my generation, I came across Thomas through the original TV series (The first two with Ringo Starr's narration are my fav.) and ...
