Re: Enid Blyton Quotes
That quote doesn't sound like Enid to me. I'm probably quite wrong because I don't know very much about her quotes, but it sounds a bit 'grown-up', talking about leaving someone.

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
Have you seen Richard Chamberlain in The Slipper And The Rose? It's one of my favourite films, it's the story of Cinderella, and it's really well done with beautiful costumes and sets etc, and amazing music. It's on YouTube (it's uploaded strangely so it doesn't fill the screen but it's still watcha...

Re: Five on a Treasure Island 1st . Wrong wrapper
Now I'm the first to admit that I have absolutely no idea what books are worth, and I know I would get well and truly ripped off if I ever tried to buy one of Enid's books online, as I have no clue whether £4 or £40 is a good price for something, but even I can agree that £700 for that lot is unbeli...

Jack, you're not the only one. I had to google it to see what the answer was. I'm obviously thick as two short planks because everyone else seemed to get it!

Thanks Dinah!
In The Sea of Adventure, what do they all have for their breakfast at the fisherman's cottage before setting off into the unknown?

Re: Journal 63
I know I keep saying this about the modern covers, but I really can't understand it. I can understand that maybe half of todays children like the new covers...but apparently most of them do! When I was a child the covers I went for were always artistic and well drawn, dramatic, and had human-propor...

Re: Where do you think Baronia is?
Yes, the vast majority of Exmoor is in Somerset, its just the far western part that crosses the border (at County Gate) into Devon.
I'd say probably about 75% of it is in Somerset.

I know, the autocorrect function on this tablet is driving me crazy! Apostraphe's seem to confuse it completely, it is determined to alter their/they're your/you're and insert random words to the end of others which I forget to check as my last one didn't do it. Even more annoying is the fact there...

Re: Daphne du Maurier - My Cousin Rachel
Yeah, I totally agree. She's (Rachel W) definitely beautiful but not in a fragile 'pretty pretty' sense, you could definitely imagine her having the hidden murderous side too. Olivia looked too old, she was undeniably nice looking but just not Rachel, in my eyes. In some shots she looked old enough ...

Re: Daphne du Maurier - My Cousin Rachel
That trailer looks pretty good. Rachel Weisz is a good choice I think; very attractive but not very young looking or anything, and not too old either. I love the old original with Olivia DeHavilland but I could never quite properly enjoy her as Rachel, she just seemed a bit too severe looking in the...

Re: Desktop site help needed
My tablet is a Fire too. I must admit I do use the mobile version of the site because the links are bigger and easier to tap, rather than bothering to zoom in on the full site, but it's a shame that the mobile site is so limited, there's no user control panel, no access to PMs, you can't see people'...
