Handwritten Famous Five postcard on Ebay

I just found this on Ebay: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Postkarte-handgeschrieben-von-Enid-Blyton-26-10-1960-seltene-Raritat-/131663619423?hash=item1ea7c3655f:g:WF0AAOSwNphWWv6h" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Might be interesting to have a look at, even though the price doesn´t s...

Re: Famous Five Stage Play in Bonn (Germany) 2015

Here is some information about the play provided by the theatre JTB including some photos: http://www.jtbonn.com/load/dokumente/1327.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The text is more or less a summary of the plot of "Treasure Island". Reportedly the premiere wa...

Re: Enid Blyton Interest from Germany

That is a very interesting article, although I would object to the assertion that the baddies are "always foreigners"! This is not the opinion of the author, but what some people say about EB´s stories - people who don´t like the stories. (Strangely enough - unless I read too fast and mis...

Re: Enid Blyton Interest from Germany

The article seems to be part of a series about famous women. It is written for children. The author obviously is a fan of Hanni und Nanni (St. Clare’s). Here is a translation of the article: It also works without adults Millions of children loved "Hanni and Nanni"-books. Now we visited Eni...

Re: German "Famous Five" film in 2012

No, it really doesn´t.
My first thought when I read about that setting was "River of Adventure without the river".

I still can´t really imagine the FF being in Thailand either (third film), but I assume the "classic" Blyton-Fan isn´t the target audience anyway.

Re: Five Find Outers & Dog Standout Moments

Not all of them are really sublime moments, but my favourites: 1. Missing Necklace Fatty as Napoleon, Goon sneezing, the villains looking for the intruder. To me it´s the most thrilling scene in the whole series. 2. Tally-Ho Cottage Ern giving Fatty the handmade table. Ern is always looking up to Fa...

Re: Looking For Fatty & co. in Peterswood/Bourne End

How did the German translator cope with The Mystery of the Strange Messages , as it's important to the plot that Goon's name is part of the word "Rangoon"? "Rangoon" is replaced by "Grimsby". So Goon/Grimm has one more reason to be upset: His name being written incorre...

Re: Your Suggestions -Spring Adventure 2014!

Then a walk round Old Thatch to search (following clues) for a 'Kirrin Ingot' (a mega bar of Toblerone -standing in for Baronian chocolate had been carefully hidden!) If this is ever going to happen I will be travelling from Germany to Bourne End just to see this, I´m serious. If I don´t bother you...

Re: The Five Find-Outers - Japanese TV

Who is who? Bets in the middle seems to be quite obvious. So the girl on the right side above must be Daisy. The boy right and the second one from the left both seem to be kind of fat, but the boy right looks older to me, so he is probably Fatty. The boy on the left would be Larry, because he looks ...

I think the initials were I.S. and the pencil wasn´t one of the faked clues. Bets laid out a shoelace for Ern.

Re: Where to buy old Enid Blyton books in London?

Thank you, Anita In Charing Cross Road is a shop called Any Amount of Books - good prices and I've seen some Blytons there. Quinto and Henry Pordes along the same road are also worth a look. They all seem to be within walking distance from Leicester Square Station. This time it´s not me going to Lon...

Re: Where to buy old Enid Blyton books in London?

Thank you, Poppy There's Charity Shops, which no doubt you know supply quite a large number of books; usually there are a few Blyton's among them. Charity Shops seem to be a good opportunity as Anita mentioned them as well. With the help of google I found Octavia Foundation and Oxfam Dalston as to b...
