Re: What makes you annoyed?
My brain just cannot compute why he didn't take the can in with him and put it into the recycling bin! My friend's parents live opposite a secondary school and for years they had teenagers throwing litter into their garden, hedges, etc. Her Dad decided to buy a couple of plastic waste bins from a b...

Re: Which Film(s) Have You Seen Recently?
I treated myself to a re-watch of Cold Comfort Farm last weekend, after it was broadcast as part of BBC 4's literary feature.
I'd forgotten quite how many great names were in it!

Re: Musicals and Other Shows
I love a good musical, and this week I went to see a favourite, Little Shop of Horrors, at the Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich. It's the second time I've seen it on stage (the first time being at the Mercury Theatre in Colchester about 8 or so years ago), and I loved it.

Re: Enid Blyton theatre show - Noddy, Big Ears and Lashings of Controversy
I saw the show last night and it was quite good. I didn't learn anything new but it was interesting to see Enid portrayed in stage nonetheless. The set was awash with mostly Noddy-related items, and the show itself was a monologue with a few soundscapes here and there. Act 1 focused on her early lif...

Re: Any News of Pete?
Keeping my fingers crossed that Pete and his family are OK. I tend to lurk and read, and not post a lot myself, but I have enjoyed reading many of Pete's posts and miss them.

Re: Which Film(s) Have You Seen Recently?
Yesterday I had a couple of hours to myself and I stumbled across 23 Walks on Netflix. It stars Alison Steadman and Dave Johns as 2 people who meet walking their dogs, and the trials and tribulations in their lives over the course of 23 dog walks. It was a nice Sunday afternoon film, and easy to wat...

Noddy and his Friends comic
Hi all, I recently came across Noddy and his Friends comics, which I hadn't seen or heard of before. Almost A4 in size, with colour and B&W comic strips, and puzzles. Originally 6p (if only they cost that much now!) There seems to be little information about them online other than a few for sale...

Re: How did you choose your pets' names?
Found my previous post in this thread from 11 and a half years ago! a German Shepherd we owned when I was a wee toddler was called Tiger. I don't why, though! Our previous dog (GSD/Rottweiller cross) was called Tyge, pronounced 'tiger' but without the 'r' :) He ws a rescue dog and had been called Wa...

Re: Famous Five 90s Series
YouTube has the complete 1990s available to watch. It starts with Five on a Treasure Island , and didn't appear in the 70s series, which combined it with the Five on Kirrin Island Again film. It is very different to the 70s films, Quentin being much more of a scatter-brained buffoon - walking into ...

Re: Board Game: Kirrin Island Treasure Quest
The lighthouse, reef, cove, buoy and wreck cards (blue) are in pairs, so only one of each of those you've listed (i.e lighthouse and lighthouse key are a pair). The chance cards (pink), include one for each child. My board game is incomplete, but I have: Safe passage x 1 Under full sail x 3 Treasure...

Enid Blyton theatre show - Noddy, Big Ears and Lashings of Controversy
Saw this on a Facebook Post and thought it might be of interest to some, perhaps (although the title does rather put me on edge as it doesn't sound a positive portrayal... What's new?)

ITVX offer a free 7-day trial, so potentially you could sign up, watch all the episodes (half an hour each) then cancel before incurring a cost:

I don't see why they were seized, rather than the landlords being asked to take them home instead.

On yesterday's House of Games, in the emoji round, one of the clues to a children's story was:
(big gap)
It doesn't show very well here, but it was The Magic Faraway Tree.
